Our script cache has a very short period of time (30 seconds) to keep a high refresh rate of your modifications in our tool. If you want to quickly pause or run a campaign, we need to be able to have it live for everyone in a very short period of time.

However, we are currently working on a beta version of the tag which is open to our customers and already in production. This tag is modular compared to the stable one which is monolithic. This allows us to have a light core script with a very short cache (still 30 seconds) but modules that gravitates around it that have a very long cache by default (1 year). Modules are elements such as: analytics engine, jQuery, campaigns, custom scripts.

We can discuss about putting your account on this beta version of the tag, but you can also wait a few more weeks since we're about to merge the beta tag optimizations to the stable tag.

To be fair, this chart has been made 5 years ago, a lot of things has changed since then!

At that time, we wrote an answer to this study because we didn't find the methodology to be super accurate. We ran our own counter-study and didn't find the exact same figures. That's why our name is blurred in the chart.

I'm not saying our performance is perfect as of today, it's just that our tool has nothing to see with what it was 5 years ago and the same goes for our competitors. We are actively working on improving what we can based on the monitoring we have at the moment and already made a lot of progress in the past months. We still have a lot of awesome projects to come in the next weeks!
