In the raw export feature of the reporting, it is possible to apply the filters used on the reporting view.
The problem is that the messaging and mechanism is the same whatever the type of event and filter, so if a filter isn't applicable to a hit type the export will generate an empty file.
For instance, Ulta applied the filter "Transaction item Category" and exported the Custom Tracking and Transaction goals. This filter is based on a parameter from the ITEM hit so it can't be applied to others, and the file exported were empty.
While this behavior is correct from a technical standpoint, this is a really bad user experience as customers obviously have other expectations e.g. exporting the list of transactions that include a product from this Item Category.
Would it be possible to prevent the application of incompatible filters on export and change the messaging to explain the mechanism?
